YannicK KOUNGA co-founded Africa Venture Lab LLC, an Angel Investors company specializing in social projects with IT focus across Africa in June 2016. Since then, the firm has provided services and help to create Eko Market Hub, a market place to sell and buy stuffs in Cameroon, Believerecord, a professional multimedia studio, PharmaApp, a mobile web application dedicated to pharmacy services, Ekorental, a rental service company for events and products, AfriKisa, an African stories teller. He has also consulted for e-Enterprise, ACM Consulting and CGM consulting, all management consulting firms. Yannick currently work on SMESPRO Project, an African businesses verification platform.
Prior to founding his own firm and becoming and independent consultant, Yannick was Business Controller with Schlumberger based in Houston, Texas.
As Controller, Yannick was responsible for Risk and internal Control in a transformation project for Schlumberger, a global leader in oilfield service industry. Early in his career, he gained extensive experience is accounting, tax, internal control, finance processes, risk and audit with Multiprint, CMF Graphics and Schlumberger around the globe.
YannicK KOUNGA holds a Master’s degree with majors in Accounting and Finance from University of Douala (Cameroon) and an M.B.A in Finance from University of Wales (UK). He has completed additional studies at the Michigan, California and Stanford Universities. He completed a program on innovative entrepreneurship from University of Maryland in US and ESSEC in Paris. He has lectured on planning and starting a business as part of African Business Owner Program, a pro bono outreach program for minority business owners focusing on Africa.
Yannick is a Fellow of several US professional association and community service organizations where he plays multiple roles, including IMA | Institute of Management Accountant, IFM | Institute of Finance and Management, IARCP | International Institute of Risk & Compliance Professional (lifetime and fellow member), OCEG | Open Compliance & Ethic Group, ACFE | Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, IIAB | International Institute of Business Analysis, ISACA, IIA | Institute of Internal Audit… He is also serving as Scholarship Director and Executive for CPS, the Cameroonian professional association in North America, he belongs to Africa Diaspora Network and is a Obama’s Global Entrepreneurship volunteer and member of organizing committee.
He speaks French, English, pidgin and basic Spanish besides four others African dialects and has lived in 16 countries. Outside of work, Yannick is an avid reader/learner, community worker, volunteer, Father, Husband, blogger and poor but keen cook!
